Ishvani Kendra was established by the Society of the Divine Word (SVD) with a vision to provide a centre for missiological reflection, study, and formation in India. Over the decades, it has grown into a recognised institution, welcoming hundreds of priests, religious sisters and brothers, and lay people every year from across India and neighbouring countries.
The institution's name "Ishvani" means "Voice of God" in Sanskrit, reflecting its core mission of proclaiming the Gospel through word, deed, and example in the contemporary Indian context.
Located in Pune, a vibrant educational hub, Ishvani Kendra continues to serve the Church's missionary mandate through its programmes, publications, and research.
